Personality: Rion is outwardly almost heartstoppingly beautiful. He is a talented bard, having been dancing and singing since he was a child. His soul however is not as beautiful as his appearance; it has been blackened and near destroyed after years of abuse, physical, mental, and sexual. He is now a cold-blooded killer, with severe psychological issues. His anger and rage are directed towards his mother, and upon seeing any female grey elf - fair of eye and hair - he is consumed by that rage and will stop at nothing to kill her, often in grotesque ways. And yet somehow that darkness in his heart and soul has never encroached on his performances; he is exceedingly well known for his extreme talent, and is coveted by many, but belongs to only one.
History: Rion's childhood was wrought with horrors one would never think to afflict
on a child. Born with incredible beauty to a grey elf named Lyissa Liaganaodel, Rion was the
only child borne to Lyissa that was not given away. She kept him solely because of his
dramatic looks - with blood red hair, midnight-colored eyes and milky white skin, he was
drastically different from all the fair colored grey elves. Since his father was human, Rion
was also only half-elf. An engima and a beautiful mystery, Rion was given the name
Quintarion Liaganadoel at birth, a mouthful which means Starrymidnight Moonwhisperer. His
mother never bothered to inform his father of his birth - they had parted ways before she
discovered herself pregnant. To that end, she believed Rion solely hers.
And she treated him as such, using his talents to achieve her own desires. She began whoring
out her young son, plying his gifts in exchange for her own sexual gratifcation from his
customers. Then came the day he returned home from a 'concert' bleak and closed in on
himself, crying and shying away from her touch. She later learned what had transpired
between him and his patron that night. And she continued to use him, merely charging greater
prices as the demand for the beautiful boy grew. She did nothing to stop it. Nor did anyone
in the village. The males used him; the females turned a blind eye.
It was only when Rion finally came of age, after six years of rape, did he finally learn that sex could in fact be pleasant. It took one young elf, Enialis, who truly loved him to show that. Rion, though he did not return that love, grew stronger, and began learning that magical abilites came with his music. He learned to affect the thoughts and feelings of others with suggestive abilites. When Lysisa saw control over her son slipping, she sought the root of the change - and found Enialis. In the guise of her own son, she set upon him, killing him, having him believe in his last moments it was Rion who betrayed and murdered him. Upon discovering his mother's actions, Rion, still not storng enough to withstand her power, knocked her out and fled Silmataurea, rejecting his elven heritage, his name, and vowing to return to destory them all.
He changed his name to Rion Gandoel [Midnight Whisper] and after a while, met a sorcerer who taught him his magic capabilities were far stronger than he thought. He learned under Lokai, other magically and sexually until his master was killed by a rival sorcerer. Rion took his vengeance, and left, searching for any clues as to his father's whereabouts. He became a hired killer and in between jobs, met Mykel. They spent one night together and then went their seperate ways. After a year they were thrown together again by pure coincidence, but this time, they did not seperate. They traveled toegther for some time, growing closer and closer. Mykel made it known early he would hurt anyone who touched Rion - without even knowing Rion's history. It was not until Rion was kidnapped and subjected to abuse by the apprentice of the sorcerer who'd killed Lokai and Mykel had to save him that the truth of his past came out. They were bonded even deeper as Mykel swore to destroy any and all who had ever hurt Rion. It was the first time Rion had ever been able to return the fierce possessive love demonstrated to him.
After years together, Rion finally found his father, and discovered he had two younger brothers, one who is near his mirror image in looks. Young Sylvain joined their traveling party, leading up to a quest to discover Mykel's forgotten past and have him take his place as King of Maradesh. On the way were life-bonded, a magic marriage that enables them to know each other's location and condition, no matter how far apart. Mykel took the throne and from then it was only a matter of time before his army marched upon the village of Silmataurea, obliterating all who ever treated Rion badly.
