Personality: Travis was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He has a southern drawl,
and has a tendency to talk nice and slow. He is fully aware that people often equate his
accent with less than average intelligence, and it amuses him, since he is startlingly
brilliant. He is easy-going and laid back, though he does hide more than a few secrets.
History: Travis is estranged from the rest of his family, a situation that had been building for years, finally culminating the summer between freshman and sophomore year in college. Growing up, Travis never quite fit in with his cousins, rejecting everything that made them a stereotypical Southern redneck family. He hated country music with a passion, preferring at first classical, and later rock. His cousins began teasing him as he grew older, that he was a Yankee in Southerner skin, that there was something fundamentally wrong with the way he thought, that he was still a virgin - most of them had been deflowered themselves at the ripe old age of thirteen. More to shut them up than any actual interest, Travis once took out the most intelligent girl he could find. One thing led to another, but Travis felt no real connection to her. Several weeks later he recived an acceptance letter and a scholarship to Ruize College in La Cinqua. Finally seeing an opportunity to leave his family behind, Travis left for college.
He took with him damn near everything he owned, including, most importantly, the growing collection he'd kept secret from his family - his collection of women's underwear. He wore them infrequently at first, but that would change. Upon arrival at Ruize, Travis made friends with Kai Emory, a student a years ahead of him. Kai had taken many of the same classes Travis would, so it began with Travis asking advice on courses and professors. During that first year, Travis was subjected to the most confusing time of his life as he tried desperately to ignore his growing attraction to Kai.
He went home that summer, and things hadn't changed. His mother was the only one who cared for him. father still pretty much refused to acknowledge him, and his counsins, especially one in particular, grew brutal, teasing him mercilessly. Stephen struck a cord when he finally decided to makes jibes about Travis's sexual ortientation, calling him a girl in boy's clothes. Not realizng how close he'd stumbled to the truth, Stephen was taken by surprise when his much shorter, much younger couisn flew at him, beating him so badly, it took three uncles to pull Travis off of him. Stephen was unconscious and in the hospital for weeks. For Travis that was the last straw. He packed his bags and returned to La Cinqua, rejecting the last of his family, with the sole exception of his mother. On his own now, Travis began swiping materials from the Chemistry lab, and began cooking and distributing drugs. It was enough to pay for anything not covered by his scholarship.
His relationship with Kai only grew over the next two years, and he finally gave in, crossing that last step when a small series of murders hit campus. They supported each other throughout the investigation, and after it was over, Kai graduated, remaining in La Cinqua to be with Travis during his final year. Travis had since reutrned to Georgia only once, with Kai, to rescue his mother form the abusive environment she was too afraid to leave on her own. They took her back to La Cinqua with them. After he gradutated, Travis moved with Kai and their familes to Washington and started attending graduate school for criminal justice.
